Melville Mens Masters
Updated February 2018
Online registration for 2018 is now open, for new player registrations or for existing members to re-register for the 2018 season. Existing members will need their Family Code for online registration. New registrants will be assigned a code. If you are intending to register for 2018 we ask that you do this as soon as possible, to help us with planning of teams and coaches.
Welcome to season 2018. Hope this finds you keen for more Masters hockey this year.
As in past years, Mens’ Masters training is scheduled for 6:30, Thursday nights at Morris Buzzacott, on the grass area south of the turf, followed by a chance to socialise, from ~7:30 onwards. For 2018, training will kick off Thursday, March 15. Please bring two shirts (one white, one coloured) for participation in practice games (the main training activity most nights).
We also aim to run pre-season scratch matches, Saturday, March 24 and/or Saturday April 7, subject to fitting in with other ground uses. Please keep an eye out for the details (via the club web site, email or Facebook). And make the effort to come down for a run, one way or another, prior to the start of the season, which will be April 14 for Saturday Masters games.
Finally – and most importantly – REGISTRATION, which is now open through the club web site (see above link). It’s critical that you register ASAP to play this year, so we can nominate competitive teams for everyone by Hockey WA’s March 6 team nominations deadline. If current player expectations stand up, this is likely to include three O40s teams (O40MW, O40 1 & O40 2), four O50s teams (O50 1, O50 2 and two O50 3s) and an O60s team, with the second O50 3s team expected to transition to a second O60s team next year.
Though best if you’re able to pay your fees ASAP after registering, this is a separate process. Registration generates a fees invoice email, but doesn’t require payment at the time of registration.
Nothing more for now – we hope to see you all at the club as the new season rolls around. In the meantime, please keep an eye out for further Masters updates, through email, the club website or Facebook.
