COVID-19 Weekly Newsletter #1

Dear Melville City Hockey Club Members, Families and Friends

Melville Hockey Club would like to reassure our members that we are closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Melville Hockey Club will endeavour to provide our members with weekly updates on any changes to actions by the club through the pandemic, as we consider new advice from our relevant governing bodies such as Hockey WA or Hockey Australia and the Federal or State Governments.

Melville Hockey Club will endeavour to provide our members with weekly updates on any changes to actions by the club through the pandemic, as we consider new advice from our relevant governing bodies such as Hockey WA or Hockey Australia and the Federal or State Governments.

  1. The Executive Committee is formed and per our constitution made up of the following officers of the club and appointments as approved.

    1. President - Gary Bowater - Gary.Bowater@MelvilleHockey.com
    2. Vice President Men - Kyle McNess
    3. Vice President Women - Brianna Coleman
    4. Vice President Juniors - Roger Mellor
    5. Treasurer - Peter Oudejans
    6. Secretary - Maris Margetts - Maris.Margetts@MelvilleHockey.com
    7. Chairman of the Melville Turf (inc) - Hans Geers
    8. Other advisors may be required as the situation arises but will not have voting rights

    All of the above members are part of the General Committee and recognised as Officers of the Club in our constitution.

  2. Training and Working together in a hockey active area guidelines are being worked on and will not be available until April 3rd. This will be independent of the HWA ruling recently promulgated.

  3. A newsletter will go out in the form of Email, Facebook and the Club Website. This will occur each Friday until further notice. All other MCHC Broadcast communications will be in these formats and must be approved by the Executive Committee above before being transmitted.

  4. The Senior Club broadcasts above will come from the President of the MCHC.

  5. The Junior Club broadcasts will come from the Vice President Juniors of the MCHC.

  6. A financial position of the club is being assessed at this time. This will include Debt Expected of supplier organisation including HWA and the City of Melville and normal supplier companies.

  7. MCHC and MCHC Turf are working closely with the Windelya Association and controlling entity responsible for the new clubroom building project. This project is progressing and stable.

  8. There are many other issues also being taken up by the committees mentioned above and each week will be reported in the newsletter proposed above.

  9. Please see the latest communication from HWA which has already explained the Associations position up until now.

At this time I would like to thank every member of the MCHC, Families and Friends for their patience while we work through these issues. This situation will eventually pass and we will play hockey, have fun and enjoy each others company in the future unfortunately not right now.
